While the majority of our friends who found themselves expecting babies in the coming year were looking forward to little boys, one of my work friends was getting ready for a girl. So while I made a slew of shorts, I also dug out some fabric to make a little dress as well.
This is actually the very last of this lovely fabric that has been in so many other things (shorts, halter top and quilt). I was a little sad to use it up. I had to do some piecing to get the bodice lining out of the same fabric but managed it with only the smallest amount of waste.
I had a look through my trims and had just the right amount of this lace to add to the bottom of the skirt. At first, the skirt was a little too wide for it (maybe by 2cm?), but I just took in the side seams a little to make it work. Presto: beautiful dress.
